City Vision Fellowship’s Children and Family Ministry
G.L.O.W. stands for God’s Love Overcomes the World. At G.L.O.W. our mission is to share with children the love of God and the joy of His forgiveness and salvation provided through his Son, Jesus Christ. Our goal is not only to familiarize children with foundational Bible stories and Biblical truths, but to encourage children to trust in the promises of God, and to develop Godly values and morals in their lives that enable them to be a light to their immediate communities and the greater world.
Psalm 119105Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. (NIV)
Matthew 5 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (NIV)
- To foster childrens’ personal relationship with God. Church is more than just a weekly meeting; it involves an ongoing, daily relationship with God and other believers.
- Equiping children to bring God’s light to others through serving the poor and broken hearted, as well as lovingly and respectfully sharing their faith and helping others learn about God.
- Cultivating a love for God’s word through the habit of learning about and discussing the Bible. In particular, we hope to foster a deep understanding of the entire Bible as a single story of God’s plan to use his only son, Jesus Christ, to seek out and restore lost people to God.
- Helping children apply the word of God, seek God’s wisdom through prayer, and seek out Christian counsel, as the primary approaches to facing problems in their daily lives.
G.L.O.W. is currently meeting on Zoom on the first and third Fridays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Meetings typically consist of a time for all kids to play together, followed by an age-appropriate teaching and related craft activity.
We strive to make G.L.O.W. a safe and welcoming place for children of all backgrounds and beliefs to ask questions about God and explore the Christian faith.
